Upcoming book ‘Henk Visch—Cosmic Dance’
In fall 2026—12 years after ‘Exactly how I remembered it’—Posture Editions is planning a new publication with the Dutch artist Henk Visch.
The book delves deeply into the artist’s oeuvre, the roots of which lie in the art of the 1980s and 1990s.
The backbone of the book is a text by the Belgian writer Barbara De Coninck, based on interviews with Visch and organised around themes such as the beginning, public space, the drawings, the HuisHenkVisch Foundation …
Visch takes the floor and—inspired by Barbara’s questions—recounts a unique artistic practice spanning nearly half a century. Through a wealth of stories, we gain an insight into the artist’s mind and are carried along on the waves of his imaginative brain. We learn who his heroes are, what he struggles with, what his view of humanity is, and where the origins of his poetic titles lie...
In addition to the many supporting images accompanying the text, the book also features an extensive visual section of sculptures and drawings, selected by Posture Editions.
Finally, the book contains a substantial photographic coverage of the solo exhibition ‘Ik was getrouwd met een aap’ [I was married to a monkey], which Visch will construct as a large-scale installation tailored to the exhibition spaces of Be-Part in Kortrijk(12.9-29.11.2026).

Henk Visch (b. 1950, Eindhoven) inspired many students during his time as a lecturer at various art academies in the Netherlands and Germany.
The artist’s works are held in museum collections such as the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Kröller-Müller Museum, De Pont Museum Tilburg, S.M.A.K. Ghent, Middelheim Museum and M HKA Antwerp, and there are also countless sculptures in public spaces in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Korea and Japan.
The book is realised with the support of the Mondriaan Fund, the Jaap Harten Fund and Be-Part, Platform for contemporary visual art.
